Events in March

Fairtrade Fortnight 2008

Fairtrade Fortnight is an annual Fairtrade Bonanza! This year from 25th - 9th March the UK will be going Fairtrade Crazy!

Check out the Fairtrade Foundation's website for events in your local area. If you are organising your own event then why not post your events details on their site.

As we would expect, there will Fairtrade farmers touring the country and if you get a chance to go along to one of their events, we would thoroughly recommend it. There is nothing like hearing the farmers talk about how much they love Fairtrade. When our media is obsessed with all things doom & gloom why not make sure you hear the good news stories - they are out there!

Ethics Girls are on show for the first time during Fairtrade Fortnight :)

We will be at the Fairtrade Experience in Glasgow on Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd March. If you are in Glasgow or fancy a day trip out, don't forget to come and see us at the stand. We will selling clothes, sampling chocolate and will have a great hamper of goodies for someone to win.

If you want to let me us know about your Fairtrade events then please email us and we will put your event up on this page

In association with the 2008 V-Day Campaign - The Vagina Monologues

Everyone Need a Bob Productions presents two benefit productions of Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues to be performed Upstairs at the Gatehouse, Highgate Village, London on February 9th at 4pm and 8.30pm.

All box office receipts will go to the Helen Bamber Foundation, dedicated to the prevention of Human Trafficking in London.

At least 4,000 women and girls are trafficked into the UK each year and forced into prostitution. Metropolitan police estimate they are forced to see between 20 and 30 men per day. The Helen Bamber Foundation - a collective of human rights specialists including doctors, lawyers, therapists, caseworkers and interpreters – provides counselling, treatment, legal advice and representation.

As the actress and Foundation's chair Emma Thompson, says "If, like me, you don't want a slave culture in London or anywhere in the world, please come and help us - survivors need your attention, respect and compassion - we need their wisdom and expertise. Together, we can act usefully.”

Contact: Christina Bradley on 07982 726 431 Editors’ notes: The Vagina Monologues will be performed on February 9th at 4pm and 8.30pm, Upstairs at the Gatehouse, N6. Tickets: £15.
