Divine Chocolate - our Fairtrade Chocolate Choice for a Valentines Gift

If I had the choice between getting a card, flowers or chocolate for Valentines Day, I know which I’d choose. Any sane person loves chocolate. And if they don’t, they’re lying. Name me one person who is able to resist it, especially on a day which is meant for super-indulgence and breaking those diet rules!

I’ll never forget what my grandma used to say to me time and time again about chocolate. She always stood by her word that chocolate is in actual fact good for your brain. Was she trying to tell me something? No, seriously, I think there is some truth in that. She would always keep a little supply in the fridge and have a few squares every other day, and let me tell you this - she was always slim throughout her whole life.

John Travolta has been quoted as saying ‘Strength is the capacity to break a chocolate bar into four pieces with your bare hands – and then eat just one of the pieces.’ And I thought it was just me who had no willpower when it comes to rationing pieces of chocolate! What’s the point? If it’s there and you want to eat it, then just go for it and don’t fret over it.

Men love it, women really love it – big hint to all those boyfriends and husbands out there! It’s classified as a ‘treat’ for many and so with Valentines Day coming up soon, have a look at what Divine Chocolate have on offer in the way of gifts.

This year they have mini milk chocolate and dark chocolate (recent research proves that dark chocolate can help beat the blues and reduce stress hormones) hearts which are available from Oxfam stores nationwide from January and the online Divine Chocolate Shop: divinechocolateshop.com.  This chocolate is free from artificial flavourings, colourings & preservatives, suitable for vegetarians and Kosher certified.

hamperAnd if you want to go all out this Valentines, they have hampers available…maybe I’ll stick to the bars (try the strawberry and raspberry duo for white and dark chocolate lovers alike) and the mini hearts. All good things in moderation..If only we could all keep to that!
