We were delighted to hear news a great project for students in Leeds. Combines keeping the streets tidy & recycling :)

Green Streets is a student led volunteering project from the University of Leeds. The main aim of Green Streets is to reduce the
waste left behind from students leaving halls and their homes in privately rented properties across inner city Leeds. Read the whole story here


The mysterious Shrinking Sheep of St Kilda

The Guardian had an interesting article (2/7/09) about the mystery surrounding the shrinking of the sheep of Hirta, St Kilda. Scientists have been sleuth like in their discovering of why the sheep have been getting smaller over recent years. The reason is climate change - shorter & milder winters. Twin your toilet - help flush away poverty

www.ToiletTwinning.Org has launched a new initiative. You can link you toilet with latrines in Burundi and help support the work of CORD. They work in Burundi on clean water & sanititation in this worn torn area. Check it out here .


Anne McCraig, CEO of Cafédirect

Anne has had a great few weeks which has culminated in her winning the Ethical Business Award at the annual Triodos Women in Ethical Business Awards. She also had a great piece in the Times online business section. Anne sets out the challenges that she sees ahead. Anne took over the reins of Cafédirect from Penny Newman in 2008.The company is currently rolling out its new branding.
