Fairtrade

Fairtrade is concerned about the farmers and workers that produce the raw materials for a whole range of products that are made in developing countries. Fairtrade aims to improve the lives of poor farmers by giving them a fair deal. This can mean setting minimum prices, banning dangerous chemicals and ensuring safe working conditions and access to union membership. Fairtrade also supports farmers and workers to empower themselves by diversifying into local markets so they become more reliant on themselves for a descent working living.
