These scarves are lovely and light. They are great scarves and are also big enough to work equally well as a shawl. An essential item for those summer nights or adding a different flavour to your outfits throught out the year. You could also get away with using them as a sarong.
Hemp is a strong natural fibre that can grow without the use of pesticides and herbicides. By using a percentage of hemp with the cotton in this calico material, this reduces the amount of water needed in the growing process.
Khusibu describe themselves as eco citizens. They are committed to working in the textile industry in Nepal which is currently struggling to compete on a global level in the midst of textile quotas and the constant global search for cheaper and cheaper manufacturing costs. PAX was a project to set up a new textile factory in Kathmandu and in order for it to succeed the team developed the Khusibu brand. They are now developing their own collections. They pay their workers above local standards.
