In the programmes introduction Debi Potter, Chair of Education and Training for UNISON in the South West announces

"During the past year the emphasis has been on using education and training to encourage more members to take up some of the lifelong learning opportunities which UNISON offers. We have also developed clear learning pathways for our stewards and, through the 1 in 25 campaign, we are developing further support and mentoring for our activists. The programme has been produced following British Dyslexia guidelines in order to reach as many people as possible."

Sue Flohr, National Helpline & Policy Manager for the British Dyslexia Association said

"We are pleased to see how well the new UNISON South West Education brochure has yet again encompassed the Dyslexia Friendly Style guidelines published by the BDA. In doing so they acknowledge the reading difficulties that employees can encounter and UNISON's effort to ensure that it can be accessed by all its members is highly commendable."

The BDA campaigns to encourage all employers to work to this standard so as to be able to reach their people with opportunities for Life Long Learning.
